Center for Performance Excellence” formally known as the Tennessee
Quality Award envisioned by one of our past Tennessee Governors, the Honorable
Ned R. McWherter. Based in Nashville, this organization is engaged in assisting
Tennessee business and industry in achieving world class performance. Their
approach is modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige Program (a National Program)
working to achieve excellence in critical factors that drive business success.
The approach focuses on seven (7) key areas of performance to identify world class, outstanding practices as well as opportunities for improvement:
Why TNCPE for CIS?As a public service organization, the overall UTCIS Mission is to provide practical and affordable assistance to Tennessee’s businesses helping to improve their competitiveness and provide good jobs and a high quality of life for Tennesseans. The Baldrige process is viewed as one of our strategic work initiatives toward that mission and envisioned as principles worthy of incorporation into our culture.The Center for Industrial Services is a member of TNCPE and currently engaged in work to achieve the highest level of award here in Tennessee. Our Center currently has four (4) members on the TNCPE Board of Examiners. Our organization views the TNCPE efforts and our internal ISO quality system as synergistic with each other and very important to our success – helping customers on a local, national and global scale.
